The passe compose is used to describe actions done in the past. It doesn't conjugate the verb, only avoir

• tu as
• il/elle/on a
• vous avez
• nous avons
• ils/elles ont

• er verbs - manger becomes mangé ( remove er add é)
• re verbs - entendre become entendu (remove re and add u)
• ir verbs - finir becomes fini ( remove ir add i)

je mange becomes j'ai mangé

avoir conjugation changes to agree with subject, while the normal verb changes in 3 formats, é, u, or i
