Neuron: a nerve cell that receives and transmits neural information

Synapse: The space between two neurons in a neural pathway.

Pre-synaptic neuron: the neuron that release neurotransmitters from the axon terminals.

Post-synaptic neuron: the neuron that receives neurotransmitters through receptors on the dendrites.

Dendrites are bushy spines of a neuron that receives information from other neurons and transmits it to the cell body

Axon is the sending branch that transmits information from the cell body to the other end of the neuron

A protein substance that insulates the axon so message do not get interferes with and travel faster

Axon terminals are extensions of the axon located at the end of the neuron
