Even-Toed Ungulates - Wild Cattle

  1. American Bison
  2. European Bison (Wisent)
  3. African (Cape) Buffalo
  4. Asiatic (Water) Buffalo, or Arna
  5. Tamarau
  6. Gaur - significantly larger hump than water buffalo, and horns curve more inwards with a larger gap between the buds; seriously BUFF cattle
  7. Banteng - white stockings and rump; dorsal ridge is significantly less pronounced than in guar, although older bulls can have one
  8. Lowland Anoa - thinner horns than tamarau; shorter hair than mountain anoa
  9. Mountain Anoa - smaller and more densely haired than lowland anoa
  10. Yak - it's like a giant schnauzer; some are even domesticated!
