NEAR VISION TEST
- 14 INCHES
- normal is 14/14
- use newspaper or magazinw
CONFRONTATION TEST
- 2ft away
- patient says "now" if they can see object
CORNEAL REFLEX

12 inches away from client's face
COVER TEST
- check for eye deviation
- cover one eye while looking straight at nurse's nose
DIAGNOSTIC POSITION
- 12 inches away from client
- 6 cardinal positions of gaze
- note for nystagmus
- you should not see the white rim of the sclera between lid and iris, this is termed as lid lag
