  1. How did you hear about the position?
    I shop a lot at Burlington, and looked up on indeed if you are hiring.
  2. What do you know about our company?
    • Burlington Stores is an off-price department store retailer.
    • You have fast moving inventory & very skilled buyers who help to provide customers with products for a great value.

    It was founded in 1924 as a whole saler of ladies coats & junior suits.

    In 1972 it started its retail business & opened a store in Burlington NJ.

    It expanded during '73 to '82 opening 29 stores and adding ladies sports wear, men's active, tailored clothing, and children's apparel.

    In 83 it became a public company.

    09-12 it increased its inventory in Home & Ladies Apparel

    14-16 Company rebranded to Burlington Stores to show its more than a coat store.
  3. Tell me a bit about myself
    I have mainly worked ina n office setting in the past as a legal assistant and medical billing assistant & most recently a receptionist. 

    Throughout these jobs I always used my customer service skills to make sure clients had the best experience & care, as well as to reassure them when they were anxious or had questions. 

    I am a reliable person, who is very friendly.  I work well with others and am customer focused.

    I would love to work here bc I love the Burlington Brand.  I've been coming with my family since it was called Burlington Coat Factory.

    I enjoy helping customers and hope to find a new home here.
  4. Biggest Strength-
    I believe that one of my major strengths is customer service.  My positive nature & patience helps me to provide great customer service.
  5. Biggest Weakness
    A weakness which I am aware of is taking on too many things at once.

    To overcome this weakness, I plan to really evaluate myself in order to provide the best work possible.
  6. What do you hope to gain from this position?
    I hope to bring joy to customers by making a part of thier day a pleasant experience.
  7. Why did you leave your last job?
    My mom needed some support for a little while & my old job could not hold my position for me.
  8. What level of time commitment are you looking for with this job?
    I would love to have a full-time position but would appreciate being a part of the team part time if that is what is available.
  9. What is one word your former coworkers would use to describe you?
    Optimistic.  I always try to find the positive sides of things.
  10. What do you feel are the three most essential qualities for a retail associate to possess?
    The first quality that is essential is friendliness.  In order to provide great customer service and maintain a good team environment you need to be friendly.

    Organization is also very important in order to be productive and reduce stress.

    And lastly communication is key with coworkers and customers to avoid misunderstandings and be optimal in your work.
  11. What do you enjoy most about working in retail?
    I haven't worked in retail but as a receptionist 6+ yrs. I have provided excellent customer service.  I most enjoyed seeing a patients relief at getting an appt they wanted or answer to inquires.  I felt I lessened their stress a little.
  12. Tell me about a time you overcame a challenge at a previous job?
    Once two new patients walked in at the same time, we were taking care of a new patient that was scheduled.  I welcomed the patients and let them know that I would double check if we were able to see them right away but gave them ppwk to fill out in the meantime.  While I checked with the doctors and rallied the team.  We successfully saw all of them all, and they left happy witht the treatment and scheduled follow ups.
  13. What is your dream jobs?
    A job where I can make a difference in my community.  Even a small one like providing excellent customer service can impact people's lives.  Sometimes we can be what makes a bad day great.
  14. What do you enjoy as a recreational activity?
    I enjoy cooking as well as going shopping with my family.  Especially to look at the home sections.
  15. Where do you see yourself in five years?
    In five years I hope to still be working here at Burlington Stores, perhaps in a different role other than cashier, but definitely within the company.
  16. What do you do if a customer wishes to pay for a large order entirely with change?
    I would take care of the customer, as efficiently as possible and quickly as possible.  I am not sure if you mean change like coins or change as in bills, but if its coins I would hope to know what the protocol would be before that were to happen.
  17. True or false:  The customer is always right.
    I believe customer service is a priority and you should do your best to accommodate customers but there may be some miscommunications sometimes.  Wehn this happens it's important to stay calm & defuse the situation as positively as possible.
