  1. Pre-takeoff checks?
    • ML
    • Fuel
    • Nr
  2. Hover and taxi height?
    • Hover: 3 - 4 ft (But 10ft AGL more stable)
    • Taxi:
    • 10kts = 10ft
    • 20kts = 20ft
    • 30kts = 30ft etc...
  3. Hover checks?
    • ML
    • Blue line vs FLI setting (Call difference eg. 0.5 FLI)
    • Nr
  4. Cat A departure TDP on clear RWY?
    TDP: 15ft - 30kts
  5. Cat A departure profile on clear RWY?
    • Push cyclic forward until 5deg ND (NB/ You will have to keep pushing forward as nose wants to lift)
    • Maintain height with power
    • At 15ft - 30kts call "TDP continuing"
    • Maintain attitude until 65kts (Vy)
    • Maintain Vy until altitude reached
  6. Cat A clear RWY LDP and key point?
    • Key point: 300ft - Vy
    • LDP: 100ft - 40kts
  7. Cat A clear RWY approach profile?
    • Base turn - Reduce 1 FLI then set 3-4 deg NU
    • 300ft - Vy around base
    • When att 1 hand above coaming commence descent
    • Aimpoint is 20m short of LZ in zero wind
    • At LDP 100ft - 40kts ("LDP landing")
    • After LDP slow and set 10deg NU
    • Call "10/10" when passing 10ft AGL
    • FTR when skids light on landing
    • After landing "Controls/cyclic centred"
  8. Pre-landing checks?
    • ML
    • LDG Light
    • NR (When slowing thru 55 kts on finals)
  9. Describe the standard circuit pattern?
    • Normal 500ft circuit
    • Turn x-wind at 300ft (20° AOB push against - FTR)
    • 500ft and 100kts (HVR FLI)
    • Downwind - Pre-landing checks
    • Base to finals - Descend 300ft / 65kts (Gate 1)
  10. Cat A VTOL departure profile?
    TDP: 130ft

    • 300 - 500ft ROC
    • Set DH to 130ft
    • Set HVR on HSI
    • Use GTC.H
    • At TDP call "TDP continuing"
    • Adopt 5deg ND until Vy
  11. Cat A VTOL approach LDP and key point?
    • Key point: 300ft - 40kts
    • LDP: 130ft - 20kts
  12. Cat A VTOL approach profile?
    • Around base 300ft - Vy
    • Finals at normal descent point, slow to 300ft - 40kts
    • When LZ at top of coaming commence descent and slow to 20kts by 130ft
    • Initially 300-500fpm then 300fpm ROD from LDP
    • At 130ft - 20kts call "LDP landing"

    • You can also approach to OGE for vertical descent
    • 300 fpm ROD
  13. Describe the slope landing profile?
    • Set-up:
    • A-TRIM off and VMS page up for MMI %
    • 6.5° ND / 11.5° NU / 12° RU / 8° LU (3° all round if nil MMI)

    • Landing:
    • Descend until top skid touch's on
    • Beep forward to bring front of skid down
    • Beep into slope whilst lowering collective
    • When MMI close to amber no more beep
    • Lower collective... if you cannot touch on than find another spot
    • Centralise controls once down
    • Note: 

    • Take-off:
    • Lift collective until light on skids
    • Beep into slope approx. halfway toward amber
    • Lift collective whilst beeping away from slope until wings level
    • Once wings level pick up and away from slope
    • Reset A-TRIM

    • General rule:
    • If you get close to amber on MMI, find another place to land
