What is the difference between eukaryotes and prokaryotes?
The eukaryotes have organelles which include the nucleus and other special parts while prokaryotes have no nucleus or membrane-enclosed organelles.
separates and protects the interior of all cells from the outside environment
Cell Membrane
it stores the cell's DNA and maintain its integrity
Nucleus
in charge of the facilitating the ribosome biogenesis, through the processing and assembly of rRNA into preribosomal.
Nucleolus
produce proteins for the rest of the cell to function
Endoplasmic Reticulum
they are the powerhouse of a cell as they play an important role in releasing energy.
Mitochondria
organizing microtubules that serve as the cell's skeletal system
Centrioles
Its main function is the packaging and secretion of proteins.
Golgi Apparatus
it is the site of protein synthesis in the cell
Ribosomes
responsible for holding the components of the cell and protects them from damage
Cytoplasm
help sequester waste products
Vacuole
they provide the rigid, organized components of the cytoskeleton that give shape to many cells
Microtubule
The lens the viewer looks through to see the specimen.
Eyepiece
connects the eyepiece to the objective lenses
body tube
connects the body tube to the base of the microscope
Arm
A rotating turret that houses the objective lenses
Nosepiece
supports the microscope and it’s where illuminator is located
Base
Adjusts the amount of light that reaches the specimen
Iris diaphragm
To illuminate the subject (specimen) on the stage
Light source
the lenses that directly observe the object the microscope user is examining
Objective lenses
The flat platform where the slide is placed
Stage
Metal clips that hold the slide in place
Stage clips
tunes the focus and increases the detail of the specimen.
Fine adjustment knob
Brings the specimen into general focus.
