SD:To carry orders from the WM in the east to the SW in the west and elsewhere about the lodge as he may direct, introduce and accommodate visiting brethren, receive and conduct candidates.

1. The SD never salutes the WM when the Bible is closed.

2. The SD does not salute the WM if the Bible is open but the jewels have been temporarily removed, for example when lodge is at ease.

• Moved to the right big toe and placed against the left shoulder.
