Outer layer. This IS the visceral pericardium

Middle layer Cardiac muscle (pumps)

Inner layer. Squamous epithelium lines & covers valves

Upper chambers. Separated by the interatrial septum

Small earlike flaps

Lower chambers. Separated by the interventricular septum

Prevent blood from flowing backwards

Found between atria and ventricles

3 cusps (flaps) Found between right atrium & right atrium

2 cusps. Found between left atrium & left ventricle

Found between ventricle and vessel leaving it

Between right ventricle and pulmonary trunk

Between left ventricle and aorta

Threadlike structure that attach the cusps

Arteries, capillaries, veins that provide the myocardium with O2 & nutrients. 

Originate from the aorta

Blood drains back into the coronary sinus in the right atrium
