Pectoral Region & Superficial Fascia of the Upper Limb

  1. Jugular notch
    • right on top of the sternum
    • superior part of the sternum
  2. Sternal angle
    • directly inferior to the sternal notch 
    •  medial and at the level of the second costal cartilage
  3. xiphisternal junction
    • inferior to the sternal angle 
    • closer to the ending of the sternum
  4. costal margin
    The inferomedial portion of the ribs
  5. Intermamillary cleft
    • Think between the breasts
    • only found on women because only women have breasts
    • in between the sternal angle and the xiphisternal junction
  6. Site of Axillary process
    • Tail of the breast
    • near the axilla ( underarm)
  7. AC joint
    • acromioclavical joint
    • the joint that hold the ligament to connect the acromion process of the scapula and the clavicale bone
  8. anterior and posterior axillary fold
    laymen's term: the creases of the armpit in the back and the front of the body.
  9. Biceps Brachii
    • anteroir portion of the humerus( arm)
    • composed of a short and long head
  10. Epicondyle
    • edges of your wenis
    • there is later and medical and they are both associated with a muscle mass to remember which one
    • Mothef**ker  medial epicondyle is associated with flexor muscle mass
    • or the front part of your elbow called the cubital fossa
  11. Thenar and Hypothernar eminence
    • The raises on the palms of the hand 
    • Thenar is near the thumb and hypothernal is the other side near the pinky finger
  12. Cephalic nerve
    • medial to the deltoid
    • in the deltopectoral groove.
  13. Where is the cephalic nerve located?
    deltopectoral triangle
  14. Baslic vein
    • connected to the basilic vein
    • is is located on the pinky side of the hand
  15. Median cubital vein
    this vein joins the basilic and cephalic vein at the median cubital vein
  16. Perforating veins
    veins that peirce the deep fascia so that they can connect to the superfsicial and deep veins of the upper limb
  17. medial and lateral cutaneous verve of the forearm and arm
    • medial to the biceps brachi in anatomical postion 
    • lateral to the biceps brachii in anatomical postion
  18. superficial branch of the radial nerve
    • you remember where the radius of the fore arm is by saying " radical dude" the thumb side is always up. 
    • the superficial bran is onthe thumb side
  19. dorsal branch of the ulnar nerve
    near the risk and on the pinky/ulnar side of the forearm
  20. investing deep fascia
    • fascia that goes all the way from the shoulder down to the wrist.
    • palmar fascia is on the palm side or the anterior side 
    • dorsal fascia is on the posterior side of the dorsum of the hand.
  21. brachial fascia
    • subdivides the anterior and posterior compartment 
    • connects the medial and later intermuscular septa
  22. septum/sepa
    all tha divides into different parts
