    • (breathe in normally then breathe in more)
  4. functional residual capacity
    vol of air left in lungs after resting expiration
  5. residual volume
    amount of air in lungs after strongest possible expiration
  6. vital capacity
    mount of air that can be forced out after taking deepest possible inhale
  7. factors affecting ventialtion rate (chemical)
    • increase co2 pressure
    • decrease in ph
    • decrease in o2 pressure
  8. bronchiodilation and constriction
    • constriction stim. by parasymp that releases ACh
    • dilation stim by epinephrine that symp releases
