    An atrocious, horrendeous group of violent and cruel whites who terrorized African Americans and white sympathists
  7. What was the Klan's response to the polices of the Radical Republicans?
    The Klan reacted violently to Radical Republicans' policies. They attacked more blacks.
  8. What was sharecropping?
    A system in which a weathly patron gives land and materials in exchange for a percentage of the person's crop.
  9. Carpetbagger
    What a white southerner called a northener who they believed was only in the South to make a profit.
  10. How did the Supreme Court ruling US vs Cruikshank hurt African Americans?
    The Supreme Court ruled that non state institutions and indivuals were allowed to be racist. Then the Civil Rights Act of 1875 was nullified. This lead to African American migrating North, scared for their lives.
  11. What challenges faced the African Americans in the North?
    They were trapped in low paying jobs. They had poor housing and no voice in government.
