Engine Start
- Start SELECT switch. - No. 2 and observe SELECT illuminates.
- START switch. - Press.
- Observe NH and at Min 15%, then (unless oil smell detected, then 10%) - No. 2 condition lever to START/FEATHER.
- Note fuel flow. - Approximately 100 PPH. (90-120)
- Monitor the ITT. - Not to exceed start temp limits.
When the ITT has peaked, decreased and stabilized, note the following:
- NH - 72 ± 2% (72 to 78% series 300)
- Oil pressure - Minimum 55 psi
- No. 2 MAIN hydraulic pressure - 2900-3100 psi
- START switch - Off/Light Out
- The following caution/warning lights out:
- #2 ENG FUEL PRESS
- #2 ENG HYD PUMP
- #2 ENG MANUAL
- #2 ENG OIL PRESS
All door WARNING lights - Out
Normally, both engines are started with a GPU/APU; however, if engine No. 1 is to be a generator assisted (cross-gen) start:
- DC EXT POWER switch OFF
- #2 DC GEN caution light Out
- Signal for GPU disconnect
- When the main battery load is <.40, the cross-generator start may commence.
Repeat items 1 to 10 for engine No. 1
DC EXT/APU POWER - OFF
#1 and #2 DC GEN caution lights - Out
Signal for GPU disconnect and the chocks to be removed
