  1. ENG.F and FIRE warning lights in FLIGHT?
    • Safe OEI: obtain
    • RED: (light on shut off lever)
    • HEAT: (heater off)
    • ENG: (affected engine off)
    • BOOST: (fuel boost pump off)
    • SHOT: 1 then 60sec SHOT 2
  2. ENG.F and FIRE warning lights on GROUND?
    • RED: (for red light on shut off lever)
    • HEAT: (heater off)
    • ENGs: (both engines off)
    • BOOST: (fuel boost pumps off)
    • Shot: 1 then 2
    • Rotor brake
    • Bty's
    • Egress
  3. OIL TEMP?
    • Check gauges
    • If both ENG over-heating:
    • LAND IMMEDIATELY
  4. MGB.P?
    • Power Reduce
    • MGB oil pressure < 0.8 bar - Confirm (red line)
    • LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

    NB/ Land within 25min
  5. CARGO.F?
    LAND (OR DITCH) IMMEDIATELY
  6. Tail rotor failure low hover?
    LAND
  7. Tail rotor failure high hover?
    • CUT CUT CUT
    • Collective down - to stop yaw
    • Cyclic in direction of flight (3 o'clock)
    • Use height to gain speed above 40kts by pumping collective
    • Fly away
  8. Tail rotor failure in forward flight?
    • Raise left: lower right
    • Increase speed until nose straight or slight right 95 - 100kts best
    • Intercept 3° glide-slope at 95-100kts
    • DON'T SLOW UNTIL BELOW 70ft
    • As nose moves left due slowing, keep straight with collective lower
    • Keep slowing until 5° NU then keep straight with power until touch down
    • Once on ground lower collective and dynamic brake slowly to keep aircraft straight
    • RULE: DO NOT LAND IF NOT STRAIGHT!!!
  9. Red GOV.1 or 2?
    Checklist

    • Disengage uppers
    • OEI stop = MCP
    • Auto/Manu to MANU
    • TQ gauge to 2
    • At 75kts 1000ft AGL BAD LVR to set GOOD TQ at 10-15%
    • Rules:
    • Nothing below 2% TQ or the bad engine controls Nr
    • Nothing higher than 60% TQ on either engine
    • Slow shallow approach watching for power suck through ETL
    • Lower lever slowly when on ground

    • or SEAL taught by AIRBUS:
    • Switches: per above
    • Establish: Vy S & L and set 10% good TQ
    • Approach or descent: 5% decrease on bad Ng
    • Landing or before ETL loss: reintroduce 5% on bad Ng
    • On ground, slowly down on collective
  10. What must you consider for a fuel malfunction?
You only see 'FUEL' on the Caution Advisory Panel so you must consistently check the fuel panel for further emergencies
  11. AP on CAP?
    • Select SAS: small button above right thumb on cyclic
    • Checklist
  12. Stuck pedals OR HYD LEVEL + SERVO + HYD.1?
    • 75 OMAPP
    • 75 kts and check for Obstruction
    • At 75 kts S and L bring in power until ball centred and compare power vs hover power
    • Intercept normal approach
    • Slow below ETL
    • WHEN aircraft straight check collective down and accept run on speed
    • IF aircraft doesn't straighten then stay airborne and place BOTH engines into MAN then reduce one engine lever to slow rotors until touch down

BOTH engines must be in MAN or other engine will maintain rotors!

Insufficient: expect run on faster than 40 and want wind from right

Excessive: expect to be slow run on or slow to hvr and want wind from left
