  1. What are 4 rules to hit sweet spot to pick someone on ECMO
    • 1. REVERSIBILITY
    • 2. Severe enough cardiac/resp failure
    • 3. Conventional therapy is harming pt
    • 4. Pt not to far gone
  2. What increases mortality in regards to cardiopulm support?
    • The more support=higher mortality
    • high pressors and high vent settings
  3. What exactly is PO2?
    Amount of oxygen that is dissolved in the blood NOT what is delivered
  4. What is the best entry criteria according to EOLIA?
    P:F ratio <50 for 3 hours

    P:F ratio <80 for 6 hours and FiO2 >80% and PEEP >10

    pH <7.25 and paCO2 >60
  5. What is the RESP score?
    how well pt will do that were already on ECMO
  6. What is the importance of early rec?
    10 hours in shock=50% mortality
  7. What do you see in a pt in cardiogenic shock? and should think about ECMO before death spiral
    • persistent HYPOTENSION
    • end-organ failure
    • 2 inotropes
    • LA >4
    • UOP <30
    • CVP >16
