The Constitution and Statutes

The Code of Conduct contains a list of prohibited acts.

No candidate or member shall request, require, suggest, or invite any other candidate, member or other person, whosoever, to perform or be the victim of any of the designated prohibited acts.

In 1919 the fraternity published documentation stating hazing in any form is illegal and outlawed pledging

The fraternity has not only outlawed pledging and hazing, but also bans from its membership those who submit to such a vile process.

The Fraternity’s membership training academy is the soul method for obtaining membership in the organization.

The fraternity seeks to remove any and all opportunities for pledging, hazing, antisocial, and unlawful activity.

In every phase of fraternity life seek to promote only safe and wholesome activities which are consistent with the code of conduct.

It is the goal of the fraternity to see that all individuals committing acts of hazing and other unlawful and prohibited acts are punished consistent with due process and the concept of proportionality to the full extent of the rules of the fraternity, college and the criminal law.

Divulging any secret of this fraternity shall constitute a misdemeanor punishment by fine, suspension or expulsion.

An occasion for the rededication by brothers to the best purposes of the fraternity

One of a number of rites and ceremonial forms of Kappa Alpha Psi, Statute 38 is a uniform ritual that all chapters and alumni associations shall use

Wayward members are those members who have elected to conduct underground pledging and engage in acts of hazing and other prohibited acts and are in clear violation of the fraternity’s rules and criminal statutes of various states. These acts are repugnant to all for which the fraternity stands and such members are renegades, not wanted, and clearly deserve, because of their behavior, to forfeit their membership in Kappa Alpha Psi.

The Achievement Commission is a standing committee of 13 members appointed by the Grand Polemarch and is responsible for administering awards other than the Laurel Wreath.

The Laurel Wreath Commission is a committee of 13 members appointed by the Grand Polemarch and is responsible for administering the Laurel Wreath.

These committees are impaneled by the Grand Polemarch to address a particular program endeavor. They are accountable to the Grand Polemarch for their actions.

This is a standing committee composted of the Grand Historian and four members appointed by the Grand Polemarch and is responsible for developing public relations policies and publication policies.

A member who is an attorney affiliated with a recognized legal bar, appointed by the Grand Polemarch with the consent of the Grand Board of Directors. Responsible for all legal issues involving the fraternity.

A motion is a proposal that the entire membership uses to take action on a stand or an issue.

The program was conceived by Leon W. Stewart in 1922. The program was suggested at the 12th Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi.

• 3. assist high school students, potential members, and undergraduate members to select appropriate careers

• Founded Thursday, February 12, 1970 by the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi under the direction of Leon W. Steward.
• Kappa League is a series of activities designed to help young male students develop their leadership talents.
• The goal of the league is to help students achieve worthy goals for themselves and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Conceived as a summer enrichment camp providing students, ages 12-16, with the opportunity to acquire productive life-skills through intensive workshops and learning through structured play activities.

A highly structured and intense leadership experience designed to increase undergraduates capacity to lead in multiple contexts - in the fraternity, on campus, and/or in their communities.

• A contest that encompasses 6 areas deemed critical to a successful life - scholarship, talent, community involvement, poise and appearance, career preparation, and model chapter operation.
• In the year of a Grand Chapter meeting, the Province winners compete at the Grand Chapter meeting.
• The 1st student of the year pageant was held May 20, 1972 at Drexel University, under the direction of Mel Davis.
• The 1st pageant at the Grand Chapter level was held at the 58th Grand Chapter meeting.

The Fraternity Auditor

• Geographic region whose boundaries are determined by the members eligible to vote at a Grand Chapter meeting.
• The Grand Board of Directors is responsible for assigning new chapters to a province.

• Holds at least one meeting per year to conduct the business of the province
• Consist of Province Polemarch, elected Province Officers, members affiliated with the chapters assigned to the province, Board of Directors, past Province Polemarch's, and other eligible members.

• Each Province holds at least one training session per year for the members affiliated with chapters assigned to the province
• Primary purpose of the training sessions is to disseminate information about the operation of the fraternity to the members
• The name of the session honors the memory of the legendary Charles Rodger Wilson, the 16th Grand Polemarch and the 19th Laurel Wreath Award recipient.
