Chain of Infection (How many?) Describe...
- 6 steps
- Starts with infectious agents, which is a pathogen(virus, bacteria, fungi, parasite, etc) then the reservoir which is a place where the pathogen can survive and multiply, next in the portal of exit which is how the pathogen leaves its source (blood, mucus, saliva, breast milk, urine, feces, vomit, semen, etc) then the mode of transport (touching, kissing, sex), then portal of entry (opens of the body), then susceptible host-which is a person who is at risk because they don't have adequate defenses against the invading pathogen.
