  1. Treatment for PROM?
    • * Rupture before 37 wks
    • * gram stain/culture of amniotic fluid
    • * 1g ampicillin q6 IV while awaiting results
    • * bed rest
  2. Treatment for Preterm?
    • * Between 28-37 weeks
    • * left lateral decuitus position
    • * IV fluids
    • * Oxygen
    • * Dexamethazone 24mg STAT or 12mg q12hrs x 2 or 6mg q 6hrs x 4
    • * tocolytics agent - nefidipine PO 10mg every 10 minutes x 3 then 10mg q8hrs
    • (Contraindication tocolytic - heart disease, HTN, diabetes, hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, chorioamnionitis, IUGR, PROM, cervical dilation >4cm, fetal demise)
  3. Chorioamninitis?
    • * Fever/Tender irritable uterus
    • * Culture and gram stain of amniotic fluid
    • * Ampicillin 1g IV q6hrs
  4. Pre-eclampsia
    • * BP >140/90
    • * Urine protein 1-2+/>300mg per 24hr
    • * Facial Edema
    • * CBC, Bun, Creatinine, PT, PTT
    • treat conservatively
