    A split cast brass floor plate with recessed hinges around copper tubes. source: 220518 submittal for Division 22 And through a wall requires a solid one piece escutcheon. (they look nearly identical)
  2. Ductile iron pipe is allowed on the site true or false? Per submittal 22 11 16 2 section 2.3?
    According to the submittal it says N/A job in red next to the entry.  So no, it is not being used according to the submittal; however, noise is a major issue and iron limits the noise when coming into walls for instance.  So it is used

  4. Can you drill or tap drainage or vent pipe for a connection or thread cast iron pipe that is in the soil according to the Oregon plumbing code?
    No. PP29 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code
  5. Can plumbing piping be directly imbedded in concrete or masonry in the state of Oregon?
    No.  No plumbing piping can be subject to undue stress and this is not allowed. Oregon Specialty Plumbing Code 312.2   In fact, in 312.10, it mentions a sleeve must be used in concrete or masonry walls and concrete floors.
  6. According to The Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code. No opening in a strain opening for a drain inlet should not exceed what diameter per section 312.12?
    1/2 inch or smaller is the requirement.  To prevent rodents from getting into drains, etc.
  7. ABS and PVC piping can be allowed exposed to direct sunlight?
    No.  According to the Oregon Specialty Plumbing Code, the use of ABS is allowed only if painted with latex paint if exposed to direct sunlight.  And PVC is not allowed unless painted with latex paint or wrapped in a tape of 1.02MM or more thickness.  The use of tape is not allowed for ABS. 312.13 & 312.14

    Image Upload 4 2 and smaller uses dielectric couplings and unions, whereas 2.5 and larger uses dielectric flanges (see image).  A dielectric union or flange is installed in a piping run of two dissimilar metals.
  17. What NPS indicates by size an increase in rod thread diameter?
    2.5 NPS increase from 3/8 to 1/2 according to the submittal 22 11 16-11 for Domestic Water Piping.
  18. For the sleeve plumbing penetration, what is the requirement to seal the space outside of sleeves in concrete slabs and walls?
    Per the submittal 22 11 16-13 section 3.11 "Sleeve Installation" part I, the sleeve outside edges in Walls and slabs must be sealed with grout.

    According to 26 00 60-5 submittal for grounding and bonding the length should be 4inches by 4ft long.copper bar.
  20. According to sheet E111.1A for the data hall grounding plan, the stup ups from in slab or UG to columns must be located on which side of the column?
    According to note 3 they must be on the non-circulating side of the column.  This has been regarded as non-typical as grounding will not come up on the column in the penthouse, where circulating will occur.

    No.  Per the print details and specs.
  22. What is the longest length of LFMC is what?
    6ft.  Per the print note 6 on print E110.2-6B2

    What is required for concrete slabs above grade
    1 inch regardless of size.

    • Above grade requires a galvanized steel pipe sleeve.
