  1. Dysuria is?
    Painful voiding. Burning sensation.

    Urinating more frequent than patient's normal
  3. Urgency urination is?
    a Sudden urge to urinate right away. No warning.
  4. Nocturia urination is?
    Feeling the need to void more at night time.
  5. Hesitancy urination is?
    The inability to initiate urine flow.
  6. Urination pain can be in what areas?
    In the supra-pubic, bladder, flank area, or from kidney stones.
  7. What is Cystitis?
    A bladder infection.
  8. What are signs of Cystitis?
    Dysuria, frequency, urgency, nocturia, hesitancy, or pain.
  9. The majority of UTI's in women result from?
    From organisms which are normally found in the bowel or inadequate hydration. Commonly found when women wipe from back to front instead of vice versa.
  10. What does the urethra do?
    It conducts urine to the outside of the body.
  11. How long is a male's urethra?
    6-8 inches long.
  12. How long is a female's urethra?
    1-2 inches.
  13. Normal urinary output per hour?
    30-50ml/hour
  14. Normal urinary output per void?
    200-500ml/void
  15. Normal urinary output per day?
    1,200-1,500ml/day
  16. What is polyuria?
    Urine output of more than 2,500-3,000ml/day
  17. What is Oliguria?
    Urine output of less than 500ml/day.
  18. What is Anuria?
    Urine output of less than 100ml/day
  19. What is Hematuria?
    Blood in the urine. May or may not be able to see.
  20. How many RBC's and WBC's are in the urine to indicate hematuria?
    3 RBCs and 5 WBCss
  21. What is Pyuria?
    Puss in the urine.
  22. What should you collect from young males suspected of having an STD?
    A routine specimen. Don't do a clean catch because you want to keep all the bacteria.
  23. Normal urine PH level?
    4.3-8 with 6 being neutral.
  24. Normal Specific Gravity level?
    1.015-1.025. The higher the SG, the more dehydrated the patient due to concentration.
  25. Specific Gravy measures?
    The solid particles in the urine. Such as medications.
  26. Normal Protein, sugar, ketones, nitrates, and leukocytes should all be?
    Should all be Negative.
  27. Glucose is present in the urine with what disorder?
    Diabetes
  28. Ketones are positive with what disorder?
    Diabetes
  29. RBC count greater than 3 in the urine signifies a?
    UTI
  30. WBC count greater than 5 signifies a?
    UTI
  31. Normal BUN level in a male?
    0.6-1.25mg/dl
