The continuous progress of the fleeing vehicle including vehicle speed, suspects driving behavior and any other information requested by the supervisor to determine whether the pursuit should be continued or terminated

Terminate the pursuit
Maintain visual contact with the vehicle by paralleling the violator on the lawful side of the roadway

Establishing a containment perimeter should the fleeing vehicle stop and the culprit flee on foot

The fleeing vehicle enters a congested area and an unreasonable hazard to the general public exists, including but not limited to active school zones, busy shopping areas, or where dense pedestrian traffic is expected.
The risk posed to the public by pursuing the fleeing vehicle is greater than the potential danger should the suspect remain at large.
Careless or reckless acts by the suspect are occurring, including but not limited to, excessive speed, disobedience of traffic control devices, or traveling in the wrong direction into oncoming vehicular traffic. The visibility, weather conditions and/or road conditions limit the probability of a safe and successful end to the fleeing vehicle incident
The driver of the fleeing vehicle can be sufficiently identified where later apprehension can be accomplished and, the driver is not a threat to the public
Supervisors or officers shall terminate the pursuit of a fleeing vehicle when
A supervisor or higher authority orders the pursuit terminated.
Pursuing unit(s) loses radio contact with the Communications Center.The pursuing officer feels that pursuing the fleeing vehicle constitutes an unreasonable risk to him/her, to the public or to the participants in the fleeing vehicle incident
