How did the Beaker people cook?

Fulacht fías were used to cook meat. A pit lined with wood was filled with water from the nearby river. Stones were then heated in a fire and placed in the water to boil it. A joint of meat wrapped in straw was then boiled in the water.

A cist tomb was a pit in the ground lined with stone slabs. They often contained ashes or remains with personal artefacts.

Wedge tombs were built with large flat slabs of stone. The front is wider than the back, hence the name. Wedge tombs contained pots with ashes

Tall upright stones arranged in circles or rows. Some have human remains buried within them. They all line up with the movements of the sun.
