Rapid IV then flush

Narrow complex tachycardia / PSVT (Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia is episodes of rapid heart rate that start in a part of the heart above the ventricles. "Paroxysmal" means from time to time.)

IV mixed with D5W

• Pulseless V Tach
• Shock from Vfib
• Wide complex tachycardia

Rapid push Preload box

• STABLE Symptomatic bradycardia
• PEA
• Pre-intubation in kids (stops vagaling - not really done anymore)
• Organophosphate poisoning

Preload SIVP

• Calcium channel blocker overdose
• betablocker overdose
• hyperkalemia
• hypocalcemia - long QT interval, T wave flattening or inversion
• hypermagnesia

open fractures

SIVP

• Anaphylaxis / alergic reations
• Acute Asthma or COPD
• Croup

q 4 hours MAX 50mg

SIVP

• Acute and Chronic psychosis
• Midaz hasn't worked
• excited delerium

Ketorolac

mild to moderate pain

Lorazepam

• seizure (but not used by EMS for this)
• sedation prior to cardioversion
• acute anxiety

SIVP

• Eclampsia seizures
• severe bronchospasm

Metoclopramide

• vascular headache
• N/V relating to headache
• INCREASES PERISTALSIS

Metoprolol

• Beta blocker
• Stable (BP>80) and symptomatic Afib/Aflutter WITH (altered LOC, ischemic CP, or significant SOB)

Versed

Midazolam

• sedation prior to cardioversion
• sedation prior to RSI
• maintenance sedation post intubation
• combatitive/violent pts
• cocaine OD

• N/V from Head injury
• N/V from stomach bug
• N/V after trying gravol and maxeran

• Anaphylaxis
• Acute Asthma attack/COPD

30 to 60 mins

• Vfib / Vtach / PEA / Asystole with prolonged down time
• Cardiac arrest with metabolic acidosis
• Hyperkalemia
• TCA OD
