INADVERTENT DEPARTURE FROM CONTROLLED FLIGHT

  1. 1. PCL – IDLE
    None
  2. 2. CONTROLS – NEUTRAL
    • 1W – Stick aft of neutral may significantly delay or prevent recovery
    • 2N – Cycling of control positions or applying anti-spin prematurely can aggravate aircraft motion and significantly delay recovery
  3. 3. ALTITUDE - CHECK
    3W – Minimum altitude for ejection is 6000 AGL
  4. 4. RECOVER FROM UNUSUAL ATTITUDE
    4C – Power-on and Inverted departures or spins will result in high loads on engine and torque shaft. Land as soon as conditions permit. Suspect possible engine damage. May experience unusual engine operation accompanied by low oil pressure or CHIP warning. Engine must be inspected by qualified maintenance after flight.
