Definition of Icing Conditions
Icing conditions may exist whenever the SAT on the ground for takeoff, or the TAT inflight, is 10 degrees c or below and visible moisture in any form is present (such as clouds, fog with visibility of one mile or less, rain, snow, sleet, and ice crystals).
-
Icing conditions may also exist when the SAT on the ground and for take off when...
Below 10 degrees c when operating on ramps, taxiways, or runways where surface snow, ice, standing water, or slush may be ingested by the engines, or freeze on engines, nacelles, or engine sensor probes.
-
When should the MCDU DATASET MENU be set to ALL?
When SAT is 10 degrees c or below and icing conditions exist or are anticipated.
-
Maximum airspeed for windshield wiper operation
250 KIAS (C)
-
Maximum fuel imbalance
790 lbs.
-
Where should the XFEED selector be placed for takeoff and landing?
OFF
-
Maximum altitude for flap extension
20,000 ft.
-
Is the enroute use of flaps allowed?
No (C)
-
Can flaps be used in icing conditons while holding?
No (C)
-
Can flaps 4 be used for landing?
No. Flaps 4 is for takeoffs only (C)
-
Considering reverse thrust, what must occur during the landing rollout below 60 KIAS?
Must be stowed below 60 KIAS.
-
How are Red, Amber, and Green display markings defined?
Red: Maximum and Minimum LimitationsAmber: Caution RangeGreen: Normal Operating Range
-
When is single engine taxi not authorized?
- - Ice accretion in the form of freezing rain, freezing drizzle, freezing fog, or heavy snow is anticipated.
- - Braking action is less than "Good."
- - Reported RVR less than 1,200.
- - Power out from gate (no pushback).
-
Engine Warm up / Cool Down
Before applying takeoff thrust allow the engines to warm up for a minimum of 2 minutes. Two minutes off cool down must be observed before shutdown.
-
When are reduced takeoff thrust procedures NOT allowed?
With runways contaminated with standing water, slush, snow, or ice and are not allowed on wet runways unless suitable performance accountability is made for the increased stopping distance on the wet runway surface.
-
When may FMS speeds be used?
Only during normal flight operations.
