- Exit Volcanic Ash ASAP (180° turn)

- If message stays shown → Land at nearest suitable airport

- Set following gear up pitch attitude and thrust:
- -Flaps Extended → 10° and 85% N1
- -Flaps Up → 4° and 70% N1

Oceanic Diversion -Engine Out (Flameout, Loss of Thrust, Intentional Shutdown or Thrust Reduction)
- Turn and offset as follows:
- NAT/WATRS: 30° L/R 5 NM
- China: 30° R 5NM
- Russia: 30° norm R 16,2 NM
- Other: 45° L/R 15 NM
- Minimize descent till established on offset.
- Drill / Checklist.
- Exterior Lights ON.
- Declare EMER, Broadcast, ADS EMER.
- ATC: Declare EMER, request clearance.
- When established on offset, descent blow FL290, then proceed with diversion at Normal ALT ±500'.
- Choose: Min Time / Min Fuel Strategy

- Complete Drill / Checklist
- Declare Emer, request diversion with ATC.
- -If cleared, proceed as per clearance.
- -If not, turn and offset as follows:
- NAT/WATRS: 30° L/R 5 NM
- China: 30° R 5 NM
- RUSSIA: 30° norm R 16,2 NM
- Other: 45° L/R 15 NM
- Caution: 180° back or across track not til blw FL290.
- External lights ON.
- Declare EMER on ADS manager page.
- When established on offset or passing 10 NM offset in other, climb/descent 500' until clearance received.
- Choose: Min Time / Min Fuel Strategy.

Oceanic Weather Deviations
- QRHN
- Obtain Clearance, if unable:
- Deviate away from organized track.
- Broadcast 121.5/123.45 Call sign, FL, A/C pos/airway, Intentions
- Watch and avoid traffic (Visually/TCAS)
- Turn ON exterior lights
- Less than 10 nm → Remain at FL
- More than 10 nm:
- -Eastbound: L Descend 300', R Climb 300'
- -Westbound: L Climb 300', R Descend 300'
- -Use FMC OFFSET. Watch out for offset/deviation greater than 21 NM.

- Fuel Control Switch (Aff. side) → CUTOFF
- Engine Fire Switch (Aff. side) → Verify IN
- Cabin → Advise
- START selector (Aff. side) → START
- Tower → Advise
- When the tailpipe fire is extinguished
- -Start selector (Aff. side) → NORM

- Assume control of the Aircraft
- AP → Engage
- Assistance → Request
- When Possible, incapacitated crew member:
- -Tilt seat back
- -Seat Full Aft, Rudder Full Forward
- -Head Back
- -Shoulder Harness as a Restraint
- -Remove from Flight Deck and Replace
- -If O2 required → Land at the Nearest Suitable Airport
