Prinz Common coding approach- perceived events and planned actions had same domain in brain and were able to have direct communication to eachother

action and affect were capable of direct communication because they shared same brain domain. the execution of actions were coupled to the effects they created

paying too much attention to movement patterns can disrupt performance

since perception and action operate in the same domain, actions should be planned in terms of their intended effect

social cognitive theory- all learning is observational by nature and occurs within social context

1. Attention- the attention of learners observation is determined by; motivation, knowledge, skill complexity, previous experience, etc 

2. Retention- learner must successfully remember patterns of what was done

3. Reproduction- the learner must be able to properly replicate it

4. Motivation- the learners self-efficacy determines the learners continuation of refining skill

• -make it quantitatively meaningful

-they are special neurons that are activated when a person does a task, or watches someone else do the same task 

-they are responsible for the planning and initiation of movements, but not the execution
