Some years ago a statement was made by grandmother that has since then become legend among some of my family – “Tommy completes us.” This was of course made after she had been disappointed to discover that it was me that had just arrived at a family party and Tommy had yet to arrive. This of course led to many years of good natured mockery and teasing of Tommy.

Tommy isn’t the only that completes people though, since it is obvious to anyone that Julia completes him as much as he completes her. Looking back over the years I have seen them together today seems so obvious. Inevitable even. It’s impossible to deny the fact that these two complete each other.

So now I ask you to raise a glass in honor of their union, congratulate them on their journey so far, and wish them luck in everything that lies before them.
