    • Crime scene was not secured properly
    • Physical evidence claiming that the crime was committed by an outsider, and someone in the Ramsey home
  3. Amanda Knox
    • Foreign student, resided with a roommate who was found dead and naked one night.
    • Police matched fingerprints to another male, his DNA was found on and inside of her body, Knox was also charged.
    • DNA on the knife was questionable
  4. Sam Shappard
    • He was a physician. His pregnant wife was attacked, while he was sleeping. He claimed he was on the couch sleeping and was knocked out shortly after.
    • The pillow indicated the use of a surgical instrument.
    • 10 years later his convictions was set aside, due to the publicity?
    • The use of the surgical tool was forced to back off, his watch had blood splatter, he claimed was from reading her pulse, jury failed to obtain a conviction.
  5. Harold Shipman
    • 81-year-old widow, dead. following the doctor's visit.
    • Shipman ruled it out as a death, no autopsy was necessary 
    • Then a will was set out to the Dr. it was considered a forgery, which led to exhumation
    • Toxicology was performed, there were lethal traces of morphine.
    • He killed 236 of his patients in a 24 year period.
  6. James Early Ray
    • Arrested for the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.
    • He stayed at a hotel, across from Martin's
    • There was a radio, beer cans, binoculars, beer cans, white mustang. ALL had matching fingerprints
  7. Lindbergh Baby Case
    • baby was kidnapped from 2nd story
    • Couple months later the baby turned up dead, following the pay out of 50,000 dollars
    • Ladder provided investigative clues, a wood technologist traced it.
    • Serial number matched the ransom money when buying gas. Microscopic markings on wood were matched to that of Hauptmanns possession. Handwriting also
  8. The Beltway Snipers
    • 10 people killed, 3 wounded in a 3 week period.
    • two people were arrested, there was a hole in the trunk so that a riffle could protrude.
    • A friend gave a tip.

    • Automobile records showed that one of the offenders were in the area during the shootings
    • A latent fingerprint was found at a scene in a liquor store.
    • motive was to extort 10 million from the state government
  9. Ted Bundy
    • He was charming, killed young women, by strangulation or by a blunt instrument. 
    • Bundy had been caught due to bite mark evidence.
  10. The Grim Sleeper
    Guy killed many women, was only matched because of his son sharing the same DNA which was traced back to the killer
  11. the Unabomber
    • the first incident of a bomb being sent too a university/airline. 
    • Claimed if his large paper was published he would end his bombing spree.
    • After it was published, his brother realized that the philosophy and writing were similar to that of his brothers.
