FM2 - lower trunk and pelvis in sidelying

  1. What evaluations and assessment can be used?
    • VCT
    • LPM
    • mobility test:
    • - sidebending
    • - forward bending
    • pelvic shear test
    • gait
  2. What is the treatment/assessment sequence for unilateral pelvic clock FMP (wealthy pelvis)?
    sidelying clock assessment - AROM/PROM

    • efficient state:
    • - full ROM with springy end feel
    • - AROM with smooth and coordinated motion

    • assess myofascial structures:
    • - latissimus dorsi
    • - paraspinals
    • - QL
    • - viscera
    • - psoas
    • - innominate depression

    • assess articular structures - AROM/PROM:
    • pelvic elevation:
    • - SP for sidebending and shearing away
    • pelvic depression:
    • - SP for separation

    • NMR:
    • prolonged hold into new ROM
  3. What is the treatment/assessment sequence for upper and lower quadrant sidbending FMP (basking seal)?
    • Assessment:
    • - mobility of lateral soft tissue and articular structures
    • - NM strength and control

    • PROM assessment with PT using lower legs as fulcrum of motion:
    • - PROM excursion of hips, pelvis, lumbar spine

    • AROM assessment:
    • - tx mechanical restrictions as providing cues for motor control.

    • Variations:
    • Hip above 90 - pelvic PE/AD
    • Hip below 90 - pelvic AE/PD

    • NMR:
    • prolonged holds with UE pattern as needed.
