    predicts when we will detect a faint or weak signal (stimulus)
  7. Sensory Adaptation
    diminished sensitivity as a consequence of continual stimulation
  8. Perceptual Set
    a mental predisposition to perceive one thing and not another
  9. Smaller vs Larger difference Thresholds
    the difference threshold increases with the size of the stimulus

    • smaller you may notice the difference
    • larger you may not
