Basic tools and concepts

  1. No perceptible movement on U-gauge
    0.25 mbar
  2. No perceptible movement on electronic manometers
    0.2 mbar
  3. Minimum resolution required for an electronic gauge
    0.01mbar
  4. Standing Pressure
The pressure in the system when no gas is flowing.

    21 to 30 mbar
  5. What controls the Installation Operating Pressure
    The meter regulator
  6. Meter Operating Pressure
    21 +/- 2 mbar

    Between 19 and 23 mbar
  7. Minimum flow rate when checking regulator
    0.5m3 per hour
  8. Max pressure drop allowed across a gas meter
    4mbar
  9. What could happen if the inlet pressure to the appliance is too low?
It will not receive an adequate amount of gas and will therefore not achieve its full performance. I.e. heat input and may suffer delayed ignition due to the burner not cross-lighting correctly.
  10. What could happen if the inlet pressure to the appliance is too high?
The gas rate may also be too high with the result the burner may suffer from flame lift off and the combustion quality may be poor or the flames may impinge on the heat exchanger or other parts of the combustion chamber.
