  1. AIDS*
    Failure of immune system Opportunistic infections and rare cancers
  2. African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness)
    Early stage: fever, headaches, joint pains, itching. Second stage: confusion, poor coordination, coma (fatal)
  3. Chickenpox*
    rash, malaise, fever, headache

    Malaise, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever
  11. Hepatitis B
    More serious than HAV, causes inflammation of liver Jaundice, fatigue, nausea, vomiting
  12. Hepatitis C
    least severe; majority are asymptomatic; chronic
  13. Influenza*
    Chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, Headache (often severe), coughing, weakness/fatigue
  14. Lyme Disease*
    fev er, headache, fatigue, skin rash If left untreated, can move to joints, heart, nervous system
  15. Malaria
    First stage is shaking and chills Second stage is high fever and severe headache Final stage is drop in temperature and profuse sweating
  16. Measles
    Cough, conjunctivitis, fever, anorexia, and rashes.
  17. Pneumonia (bacterial)
    Inflammation of the lung;  cough, chest pain, fever, and difficulty breathing

  24. Syphillis*
    primary through tertiary symptoms
  25. Tuberculosis
    lung infection, bloody phlegm, fatigue, weight loss
  26. Typhoid
    fever, headache, nausea
  27. Yellow Fever
    Acute phase - fever, myalgia, headache, shivers, nausea Toxic phase - jaundice, bleeding from orifices, kidney failure
