stone-like concretion usu composed of salts of inorganic & organic acids or other material such as cholesterol; a stone

malignant neoplasm derived from epithelial tissue

dark blue or purplish discoloration of skin or mucous membrane secondary to deficiency of oxygenation to blood

(in obstetric terms) enlargement of transverse diameter of cervical opening; in non-pregnancy patient, it is less than 5 mm; at complete dilation in labor, it is 10 cm

(in reference to aorta) occurs when intimal layer of vessel splits apart from deeper muscle layers & blood flows into the layers

situated away from center of body or from point of origin (i.e. farthest away part); opposite of proximal
