Abnormally elevated, expansive or irritable mood lasting 1 week including 3 of the following (4 if irritable):
1. Distractibility
2. Inflated self-esteem or grandiosity
3. Increased goal directed activity
4. Decreased need for sleep
5. Flight of ideas or racing thoughts
6. More talkative/pressured speech
7. Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities that have a high risk of negative consequences
