The branch-circuit rating for an appliance that is continuously loaded, other than a motor-operated appliance, shall not be less than __ percent of the marked rating, or not less than __ percent of the marked rating if the branch-circuit device and its assembly are listed for continuous loading at __ percent of its rating

Household-type appliances with surface heating elements having a maximum demand of more than __ amperes calculated in accordance with Table 2.20.3.16 shall have its power supply subdivided into two or more circuits, each of which shall be provided with overcurrent protection rated at not over __ amperes

Infrared lamp commercial and industrial heating appliances shall have overcurrent protection not exceeding __ amperes

Opencoil or exposed sheathed-coil types of surface heating elements in commercial-type heating appliances shall be protected by overcurrent protective devices rated at not over __ amperes

If the branch circuit supplies a single non–motor-operated appliance, the rating of overcurrent protection shall:

(1) Not exceed that marked on the appliance.

(2) Not exceed __ amperes if the overcurrent protection rating isnot marked and the appliance is rated __ amperes or less; or

(3) Not exceed __ percent of the appliance rated current if theovercurrent protection rating is not marked and the appliance is ratedover __ amperes. Where __ percent of the appliance rating does notcorrespond to a standard overcurrent device ampere rating, the nexthigher standard rating shall be permitted

Electric heating appliances employing resistance-type heating elements rated more than __ amperes, other than household appliances with surface heating elements covered by 4.22.2.2(b), and commercial-type heating appliances covered by 4.22.2.2(d), shall have the heating elements subdivided. Each subdivided load shall not exceed __ amperes and shall be protected at not more than __ amperes

Commercial kitchen and cooking appliances using sheathed-type heating elements not covered in 4.22.2.2(d) shall be permitted to be subdivided into circuits not exceeding __ amperes and protected at not more than __ amperes where one of the 3 stated condition are met

Water heaters and steam boilers employing resistance-type immersion electric heating elements contained in an ASME-rated and stamped vessel or listed instantaneous water heaters shall be permitted to be subdivided into circuits not exceeding __ amperes and protected at not more than __ amperes

A fixed storage-type water heater that has a capacity of __ Lor less shall be considered a continuous load

In industrial occupancies, infrared heating appliance lampholders shall be permitted to be operated in series on circuits of over __ volts to ground, provided the voltage rating of the lampholders is not less than the circuit voltage

Electrically operatedkitchen waste disposers shall be permitted to be cord-and plug connected with a flexible cord identified as suitable for the purpose in the installation instructions of the appliance manufacturer, where the length of the cord shall not be less than __ mm and not over __ mm

Built-in dishwashers and trash compactors shall be permitted to be cord-and plug connected with a flexible cord identified as suitable for the purpose in the installation instructions of the appliance manufacturer where the length of the cord shall be __ mm to __ mm measured from the face of the attachment plug to the plane of the rear of the applianc

Range hoods shall be permitted to be cord-and plug connected with a flexible cord identified as suitable for use on range hoods in the installation instructions of the appliance manufacturer, where the length of the cord is not less than __ mm and not over __ mm

(Disconnecting means)

For permanently connected appliances rated at not over __ volt-amperes or __ hp, the branch-circuit overcurrent device shall be permitted to serve as the disconnecting means

For permanently connected appliances rated over __ volt-amperes or __ hp, the branch-circuit switch or circuit breaker shall be permitted to serve as the disconnecting means where the switch or circuit breaker is within sight from the appliance or is capable of being locked in the open position

All cord-and-plug-connected smoothing irons and electrically heated appliances that are rated at more than __ watts and produce temperatures in excess of __°C on surfaces with which the cord is likely to be in contact shall be provided with one of the types of approved heater cords listed in Table 4.0.1.4

Exception No. 1: Storage water heaters that are identified as being suitable for use with supply water temperature of __°C or above and a capacity of __kW or above

Exception No. 2: Instantaneous-type water heaters that are identified as being suitable for such use, with a capacity of __L or less

Infrared heating lamps rated at __ watts or less shall be permitted with lampholders of the medium-base, unswitched porcelain type or other types identified as suitable for use with infrared heating lamps rated __ watts or less

Screw-shell lampholders shall not be used with infrared lamps rated over __ watts, unless the lampholders are identified as being suitable for use with infrared heating lamps rated over __ watts

All single-phase cord-and plug- connectedhigh-pressure spray washing machines rated at __ volts or less shall be provided with factory-installed ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel

The ground-fault circuit interrupter shall be an integral part of the attachment plug or shall be located in the supply cord within __ mm of the attachment plug

Individual branch circuits shall be permitted to supply any size fixed electric space-heating equipment. Branch circuits supplying two or more outlets for fixed electric space-heating equipment shall be rated 15, 20, 25, or 30 amperes. In nondwelling occupancies, fixed infrared heating equipment shall be permitted to be supplied from branch circuits rated not over __ amperes

Fixed electric space heating equipment shall be considered continuous load. Fixed electric space-heating equipment requiring supply conductors with over __°C insulation shall be clearly and permanently marked

Resistance-type heating elements in electric space-heating equipment shall be protected at not more than __ amperes

Equipment rated more than __ amperes and employing such elements shall have the heating elements subdivided, and each subdivided load shall not exceed __ amperes. Where a subdivided load is less than __ amperes, the rating of the supplementary overcurrent protective device shall comply with 4.24.1.3(b).

Field-wired conductors between the heater and the supplementary overcurrent protective devices shall be sized at not less than __ percent of the load served.

(Electric Space-Heating Cables)

Heating cables shall be furnished complete with factory-assembled nonheating leads at least ___ mm in length

Wiring located above heated ceilings shall be spaced not less than __ mm above the heated ceiling and shall be considered as operating at an ambient temperature of __°C

Heating elements of cables shall be separated at least __ mm from the edge of outlet boxes and junction boxes that are to be used for mounting surface luminaires (lighting fixtures)

A clearance of not less than __ mm shall be provided from recessed luminaires (fixtures) and their trims, ventilating openings, and other such openings in room surfaces

Adjacent runs of cable not exceeding __ watts/m  shall not be installed less than __ mm on centers

All heating cables, the splice between the heating cable and nonheating leads, and __ mm minimum of the nonheating lead at the splice shall be embedded in plaster or dry board in the same manner as the heating cable
