As a GDL driver, you will hold one of the following driver's licence......
- Stage One: Class 7 ( Learner's Driver's Licence)
- Stage Two: Class 5-GDL (Probationary Licence)
To obtain a class 7 learner's driver's licence you must.....

- vision screening
- knowledge test
- parental consent
- valid identification
Learner's Condition..... (6)
- hold at least one year
- accompanied by a fully license driver who is 18 years of age or older
- not permitted from midnight to 5 a.m
- passengers must equal to seat belts
- eight or more demerit point = suspended
- zero alcohol level
To become a probationary driver you must (3)
- hold your class 7 driver's licence for a year
- 16 years and older
- basic Alberta class 5 road test
Probationary Condition (6)
- hold for two years
- passengers equals to seat belts
- suspended on 8 or more demerit point
- zero level of alcohol
- not able to reclass your licence to a commercial driver's licence
- cannot serve as an accompanying driver to a learner
