Cell - pushes electrons around a circuit. A battery contains two or more cells.

Diode - allows current in one direction only
Light Emitting Diode - LED - emits light when current passes through it
Ammeter - measure electric current
Fixed Resistor - limits the current in a circuit
Variable Resistor - allows the current to be varied
Fuse - designed to melt and break the circuit if the current through it is greater than a certain amount
Heater - transfers electrical energy as heat energy to the surroundings
Voltmeter - measures potential difference
Thermistor - resistance greatly reduced by heating
Light Dependent Resistor - with brighter light the resistance decreases
