Why was the Nazi Party unsuccesful before 1929

Often displayed arrogant, gangster-like behavior which put the German people off the Nazi party

Gave Nazis bad image as it made the Nazis look violent and thugish. Especially as Hitler ended up in prison for it

Party was made illegal after the Munich Putsch and Hitler could not take part in speech's.Therefore it was hard for Nazis to build up support

Things were stable , people saw no need for a big change. Therefore an extremist party like the Nazis lost support
