  2. FORCE OPTIONS
    COOPERATIVE: command presence, verbal, non-verbal, control search & handcuff

    RESISTIVE: control hold, firm grip, defensive tactics, O.C. spray, intermediate weapons, hobble

    ASSAULTIVE/HIGH RISK: less lethal, taser, personal weapons, impact weapons, carotid restraint, TARP, K-9

    LIFE THREATENING/SERIOUS BODILY INJURY: firearms, impact vital areas
  3. SECURE DETENTION (MINORS)
    Inform the minor:

    - Reason for the secure detention

    - Anticipated length of the secure detention

    - Secure detention not to exceed 6 hours

    - Can not be secured to object more than 30 minutes

    - No communication between adult prisoners
  4. FOOT PURSUIT POLICY
    2 or more deputies initiating a foot pursuit must put out:

    • - Unit identifier
    • - Suspect location and direction
    • - Reason for the foot pursuit
    • - wether the suspect is armed or not

    One person foot pursuits:

    • - Do not attempt to close/apprehend only maintain visual
    • - Do not attempt to pursue if visual is compromised
    • - Do not chase suspect into a building
    • - If suspect is in containment, foot pursuit shall be terminated
    • - If communication with SCC is lost pursuit shall be terminated

  5. HATE INCIDENT
    • Any non-criminal act, including words, directed at a person motivated by a bias of the protected class.
    • Hate incidents include:
    • - utterance of epithets
    • - Distribution of hate materials in public places
    • - Posting of hate materials without causing property damage
    • - Display of offensive materials on one's own property
  6. HATE CRIME
    • Any crimainal act or attempted act directed against:
    • (1) A person motivated by bias, due to that persons (actual or perceived) race, religion, ethinicity, sexual orientation, gender or disability or due the person's with any of the afformentioned protected groups.

    (2) A public or private institution which apparently is motivated due to the fact that the agency or institution is identified with the protected groups
