Antihistamine

Antiemetic

• Nausea and Vomiting
• Motion Sickness
• To potentiate the effects of analgesics

• Comatose states
• Patients who have receved large amounts of depressants (including alcohol)

• Use with caution in patients with seizure disorder
• Asthma

• May impair mental and physical ability
• Dowsiness

• Slow IV: 12.5-25.0 mg
• IM or PO: 50-100 mg

Hormone (hypoglycemic agent)

• Causes uptake of glucose level
• Promotes glucose storage

• Elevated blood glucose
• Diabetic ketoacidosis

Avoid over combisation of blood glucose level; if possible admin should wait till the pt is in the ER

• Administration of excessive dose may induse hypoglycemia
• Glucose should be availble

10-25 units regular insulin IV followed by an infusion at 0.1 units/kg/hr

Hormone

• Causes brakedown of glycogen to glucose
• Inhidits glycogen synthesis
• Increases cardiac contractial force
• Increases heart rate

• Hypoglycemia
• Beta-blocker overdose

Hypersensativity to the med

• effective only if there are sufficent stores of glycogen with in the liver
• Use caution in patients with cardiovascular or reanal disease
• draw blood for glucose before admin

Few in emergincy situation

• IV: 0.25-0.5 unit
