VALUE
The element of art that describes the lightness or darkness of an object. Value depends on how much light an object reflects. Element of art.

One part of a work looks more dominant over the others. The elements noticed after are called subordinates. Principle of art.

Concern with the size relationships of one part to another. Principle of art and design.

Concern with equalizing visual forces/elements in a work of art. To have visual balance is to arrange the elements in a satisfying way. Can be either FORMAL (SYMMETRICAL) or INFORMAL (ASYMMETRICAL). Principle of art and design.
