  1. What 3 conditions must happen for EIGRP to form a neighbor?
    • -Hello or ACK received¬†
    • -AS numbers match
    • -Identical metrics (K values)
  2. What is the default EIGRP Hello timer?
-EIGRP sends out Hello packets every 5 sec by default.
  3. With EIGRP what is the hold timer?
-The EIGRP hold timer tell the neighbor how long to wait for a hello packet from them before it is to be considered dead.
  4. When will EIGRP sends out its entire routing table?
The only time eigrp sends out its entire routing table is when it establishes a new neighbor. after that it only sends out route updates.
  5. What are the 3 tables EIGRP creates?
    • -Neighbor table
    • -Topology table
    • -Route table
  6. When entering the networks you want EIGRP to share. Do you enter them class fully or with the subnet and subnet mask?
Either. If you enter it classfully it will share all subnets with in that network. If you do it with subnet and subnet mask you can pick which networks are advertised.
  7. What are the 5 factors EIGRP uses to determine the best path?
    • -Bandwidth
    • -Delay
    • -Load
    • -Reliability
    • -MTU
  8. What command do you type in to show what the EIGRP variance and maximum paths?
    Router#"sh ip protocols"
  9. How can you get EIGRP to load balance across 2 paths that are not equal and what is the command?
    • -you use the variance command
    • -Router (config-router)#variance "Number"
  10. What is the maximum variance that you can use for load balancing?
128 is the most variance you can use.
  11. What is the default hold time for eigrp hello packets?
EIGRP send out hello packes every 5 seconds and hold timer of 15 seconds.
  12. How do you see if there is filtering on a routing protocol?
    R1#show ip protocols
