    Any people or things that have evoked the wonder of the Japanese, ie. Japan's divine ancestors

    Focal point of Shinto worship. A small altar.

    An archway formed by two upright pillars and a crossbeam, usually fortified with horizontal supports. The entrance to the sacred confines  of a shrine. Universal symbol of Shinto.
  4. Define samurai.
    A Japanese medieval warrior knight.
  5. Define seppuku.
    Ritual suicide prescribed by bushido for samurai who have committed crimes or acts of dishonor.
  6. Define bushido.
    A code of conduct for the samurai tht is based on Shinto nationalism, Confucian ethics, and Zen Buddhist self-discipline.
  7. In what country did Shinto originate?
    Japan.
