A plane formed by the intersection of a horizontal number line (X-axis) and a vertical number line (Y-axis).
Coordinate plane
The point where the X-axis and Y-axis intersect on the plane.
Origin
The X and Y-axis divide the coordinate plane into 4 regions called __________.
Quadrants
An equation whose solution forms a straight line on a coordinate plane.
Linear equation
The horizontal axis on a coordinate plane.
X-axis
A pair of numbers that can be used to locate a point on a coordinate plane.
Ordered pair
The X-coordinate of the point where the graph of a line crosses the X-axis.
X-intercept
The Y-coordinate of the point where the graph of a line crosses the Y-axis.
Y-intercept
Measure of the steepness of a line or a graph.
Slope
Middle number
Median
Number that occurs most frequently.
Mode
The sum of the items in a set divided by the number of items in the set. The average.
Mean
Difference between the greatest and least values.
Range
A value much greater or much less than the others in the data set.
Outlier
A graph with points plotted to show a possible relationship between 2 sets of data.
Scatter plot
A graph showing how data is distributed by using medians, quartiles, least and greatest values.
Box and whisker plot
The difference between the upper and lower quartiles in a box and whisker plot.
Interquartile range
A table that lists items together according to the number of times they occur.
Frequency table
The frequency of all data values that are less than or equal to a given value.
Cumulative frequency
