Farm Liability Insurance

  1. Farm Liability Coverage Form (FL 00 20)
    • Coverage H-Bodily Injury & Property Damage--The insuring agreement stipulates that the insurer will pay those sums that the insured is legally obligated to pay as damages because of bodily injury or property damage to which the insurance applies. The insurer will only pay up to the liability limits for any damages for which the insured is legally liable.
    • Coverage I-Personal & Advertising Injury--The form defines "personal injury" as injury, including consequential bodily injury, arising out of one or more of the following offenses false arrest, detention, or imprisonment; malicious prosecution; wrongful eviction; oral or written publication that libels or slanders a person or organization; oral or written publication that violates a person's right of privacy.
    • Coverage J-Medical Payments--The insurer agrees to pay reasonable medical expenses incurred within three years of the accident that causes bodily injury. An underlying reason for this coverage is to develop a good relationship between the potential claimant and the insured or insurer. If this initial time frame after the loss is handled appropriately, lawsuits can be avoided. This coverage is also subject to a series of exclusions, many of which are similar to those applicable to the bodily injury and property damage liability coverage.
