    Binary compounds
  2. Acids usually star with what element?
    "H" - Hydrogen
  3. What is a type I ionic compound?
    Single cation metal + nonmetal
  4. What are the rules for naming Type I compounds? (cation metal+nonmetal)
    • 1. Name the cation first
    • 2. Name the nonmetal with -ide ending

    Remember all compounds must be stable!!!
