Contra-Indications of Methoxyflurane
- KSAR
- Hx of significant liver or renal disease
- Malignant hyperthermia
Precautions for Methoxyflurane
- ALOC
- Intoxicated Pt's
Side effects of Methoxyflurane
- ALOC
- Cough
- Renal/hepatic failure following repeated high exposure
Dosage of Methoxyflurane
- Adult
- 3ml inhaled dose repeated after 20 mins (from start of administration of first dose) if required. Max dose 6ml
- Child (1-12 y/o)
- 3ml inhaled dose
Not approved for children under 1 y/o
