- 1. Narcotic Overdoses including: Morphine, Methadone, Dilaudid, Heroin, Fentanyl, Demerol, Paraegoric, Percodan, Tylox, Nubain, Stadol, Talwin, and Darvon
- 2. Alcoholic Coma to rule out narcotics
- 3. To rule out norcotics in coma of unknown origen

Can result in severe withdrawl effects

- 1. Acute withdrawl syndrome (give slowly)
- 2. Pulmonary edema in rare cases

Naloxone (Narcan) Dosage
1-2 mg q 5 minutes SLOW IV push. Titrate to achieve good tidal volume with respirations
