As a SNCOIC you have seven primary duties and responsibilities.
a. Make shipping
b. Make contracting by monitoring and constantly improving the ―Contact-to- Contract Chain‖.
c. Develop sound plans based on the mission, ensure the mission isunderstood and all efforts are focused towards it.
d. Set SNCOIC and recruiter objectives and analyze the results of allactivities.
e. Maximize prospecting by monitoring activities on a daily and weeklybasis and adjust the plan as appropriate.
f. Improve selling techniques through a comprehensive training programto ensure every Marine is successful.
g. Maximize program utilization
The single most important aspect of our enlisted recruiting process is
shipping individuals to recruit training within established quality standardsand graduating those shippers.
You make shipping by
building pool throughproper placement and in accordance with annual and monthly mission letters
Your ultimate responsibility is
to make your assigned shipping missions bycomponent and category!
The process of shipping can be summarized into a three step process:

Proper planning ensures
he recruiting effort is targetedto the appropriate market
PLANNING
Upon receipt of annual and monthly mission letters the NCOIC must
compare current pool against known shipping requirements. Once this isaccomplished the NCOIC will have determined by category and component thatmarket his recruiters need to prospect in.
PLANNING
After the NCOIC determines the by category and componentrequirements to make shipping he then
begins the process of developingprospecting plans which will focus the recruiting effort into the propermarkets.
EXECUTION
Execution of the plan requires
the supervision of dailyand weekly activities conducted by the recruiter.

Once a sound plan has been developed, based on shippingr equirements
the next step is to ensure that the mission is understood andthat all efforts are directed towards it.

Management of the pool entails
carefully monitoring thestatus of the pool to ensure they are prepared and motivated to ship torecruit training.

Recruiter to Poolee Contact
Continuous contact with the poolensures that the poolee remains focused and motivated towards shipping. Thisis accomplished through weekly contact and monthly attendance at scheduledpool functions.

Preparation for Shipment
Conducting continuous screening, preshipbriefs, final and departure visits are critical steps in preparingpoolees to ship. The NCOIC must ensure that shippers are qualified to ship asplanned.
